Design Vulnerability Identification
ACE's peer review identifies the specific details, transitions, and specifications that are most likely to fail based on our forensic experience. We focus on the high-risk conditions that cause the majority of real-world failures — flashing transitions, air barrier continuity, sealant joint geometry, waterproofing terminations, and thermal bridge conditions — rather than reviewing every detail with equal emphasis.
Value Engineering Without Compromising Performance
Value engineering in building envelope design is only valuable if it doesn't create future failures. ACE provides value engineering recommendations that reduce cost while maintaining or improving performance. We identify where specifications are over-engineered (creating unnecessary cost) and where they're under-engineered (creating future risk), achieving the optimal balance of cost and performance.
Constructability Assessment
The most elegant envelope detail in the world is worthless if field crews can't build it correctly. ACE evaluates every reviewed detail for constructability — whether the specified sequence, tolerances, and material handling requirements are realistic for actual field conditions. This assessment prevents the all-too-common scenario where a detail that works perfectly on paper fails because it can't be installed as drawn.
